This one AI prompt changed everything.
I was scrolling on Reddit the other day when I found a prompt that shifted how I’m going to market myself and my newsletter business.
The prompt leverages ChatGPT’s new memory feature—basically it now can reference all of your past chats which it couldn’t do before.
It looked over everything I’ve been doing for the past couple years and spotted patterns and blind spots that were slowing me down.
Not only was it eerily accurate... it felt like a glimpse into the future.
At some point, we’re all going to have our own AI that knows everything about us and helps us grow faster and avoid mistakes.
This is especially true if you’re building a business after 50, trying to stay relevant, and looking for smarter ways to earn.
So today I want to share how the prompt helped me to give you an idea of how it can help you.
Here’s What Was Going On
I’ve been putting out a lot of content lately:
Weekly blogletter posts like this
3–5 LinkedIn posts per week
New guides
Documenting my processes and tools
And spending over an hour a day engaging on LinkedIn
The results? Solid subscriber growth (almost to 500). Some income from sponsored emails. A few recurring affiliate commissions. And some great conversations.
I am making progress but...
I’m still not making the kind of sales I want.
And honestly, with the amount of effort I’m putting in, I feel like I should be growing faster.
Enter: The Brutally Honest AI Coach
When I ran this prompt, I got back some brutally honest insights. Stuff that I know to look for when I’m helping clients... but somehow I have been blind to in my own business.
Here are the big ones:
1. You Build Before You Sell
What Happens: You build full offers, frameworks, and funnels before testing demand.
Why: You believe “if it’s great, people will come.”
Problem: No revenue or feedback = slow growth.
What Happens: You soften your tone to be more relatable.
Why: You don’t want to sound like a “bro marketer.”
Problem: You attract skeptics, not buyers.
3. You Avoid Big Moves to Stay Free
What Happens: You default to low-risk experiments.
Why: You fear getting boxed in.
Problem: You stay small... on purpose.
4. You Tinker Instead of Committing
What Happens: You keep tweaking your offer, your content angle, your funnel.
Why: You want it to be “perfect.”
Problem: No clear signal = no traction.
5. You Give Without Asking
What Happens: You deliver great content—but no clear next step.
Why: You want to help, not be salesy.
Problem: You don’t convert fans into clients.
Freaky.
And at first, WTF!
But once I got over it, I realized I was staring at an opportunity.
Fix these five things—and (fingers crossed) not only will my business run smoother—I’ll have better content to share with you.
The Action Plan
Next thing I did was asked it to outline a plan to help me address each of these.
Here’s a video showing you my ChatGPT set up and how I turned the insights into an action plan.
Now, your turn…
